The focus of this year's conference is Pedestrian-Bicycle Collisions. Attendees will have the pleasure in learning from some of the foremost experts in the field of motor vehicle collision investigation. Speakers presenting at the conference include - Mike Reade, Tony Becker, Greg Russell, and Greg Sullenberger, to name a few. In addition to the informative and authoritative presentations, the conference will also include instrumented pedestrian collision tests conducted by the Tulsa University Crash Reconstruction Research Consortium (TU-CRRC).

Recent Events:

The 2010 Annual Conference, hosted by MdATAI, was held October 6-8, 2010, in Ocean City, MD. Continuing the topic of commercial vehicle crash reconstruction, this year’s crash testing involved trailer underride impact analysis. The conference also provided an array of lectures ranging from forensic photography to human factors to head lamp illumination effectiveness. Supplemental classes included forensic diagramming and a practical nighttime photography session.

The 2009 Annual Conference, hosted by NAPARS, was held October 7-9, 2009, in Ocean City, MD. The main topic was commercial vehicle crash reconstruction. In addition to a spectacular semi versus pick-up impact, attendees had the opportunity to drive a trailer-trailer combination. Other field exercises included truck skid testing, ECM download documentation, MCSAP inspection protocols and light vehicle to heavy vehicle side swipe impacts.

The 2008 annual conference was held October 15-17 in Atlantic City, NJ. This year's conference featured lateral pole impacts and refined airborne analyses.

The 2007 annual conference was held October 24-26 in Binghamton, NY. Vehicle-to-vehicle crashes focused on the analysis of post-impact rotation. Also conducted were crashes into fixed barriers to evaluate airbag deployment with the high-speed impact left to "robocar".

MdATAI co-sponsored, along with 11 other organizations, the F3T2 conference that was held in Clear Lake, Texas, September 18-21, 2006. The conference featured a day of crash testing and practical field examinations in addition to many excellent presentations. With lots of catered food and networking, no one was hungry or bored.
